GNU Freetalk

GNU Freetalk is a console based chat client for Jabber and other XMPP servers. It has context sensitive auto-completion for buddy names, commands, and even ordinary English words. Similar to GNU Emacs, You can customize and extend GNU Freetalk with Scheme language.

GNU Freetalk can be found on the main GNU ftp server (download GNU Freetalk via HTTPSdownload GNU Freetalk via HTTP or download GNU Freetalk via FTP), and its mirrors; please use a mirror if possible.

Documentation

Documentation for GNU Freetalk is online, as is documentation for most GNU software. It can also be accessed by running info freetalk or man freetalk, or by looking at /usr/share/doc/freetalk/, or similar directories on your system. A brief summary is available by running freetalk --help.

Announcements about GNU Freetalk and most other GNU software are made on the info-gnu mailing list (archives).

Security reports that should not be made immediately public can be sent directly to the maintainer. If there is no response to an urgent issue, you can escalate to the general security mailing list for advice.
